the Casuals

Toledo, late 1960s

Little about this Toledo soul vocal group is known to us. They were part of the Glass City Review that was sponsored by Clark's record store..

In late 1969 or so they recorded a 45 in Clark's studio located in the back of their record store. The A side was an original ballad credited to Johnie Jones, presumably a band member. Gus Walker was the arranger and musical force, as he was on all of the Glass City related records. The B side is a remake of the O'Jays hit "I'm So Glad I Found You". The record was released in the Glass City label, this seems to be the second release on the label with Ramona Collins, on the Clark's label, being the first The recording has a lot of echo and is raw but energetic.

That's all we have on the Casuals for now....
