Checkers / Donnie Gee

East Livepool, early 1960s

Could not find much about this group who recorded a 45 for the Manhattan/Patrice label.  One side is a cover of the Ray Price song "Invitation to the Blues" credited to Donnie Gee and the Checkers, while the other side is an original rockin' instrumental "Double Jump", credited to Jackson. Like most of the artists on the label, they were from East Liverpool or nearby, as they played in EL.
