Jewel was a house label for recordings done at Rusty York's studio in Mt. Healty, a suburb of Cincinnati. Jewel was the primary label, but several subsidiary names were used like Teen (for the teen garage bands) and Log Cabin (for country, although most of the Jewel records were country). Jewel records used several numbering systems but the primary ones were the 700 series and the early 900 series. There are many overlapping numbering systems, which are detailed below. In 1975 the numbering changed so the year (75, 76, etc) became the first two digits of the numbers. There is no connection between this Jewel and the New Orleans based label (which was primarily soul) that used a nearly identical 700 numbering, long a source of confusion for discographers.
Jewel started out with a 100 series, a 400 series, and a 600 series, all of which were concentrated around Cincinnati’s country and country gospel musicians, and almost all the records were cut by a rotating group of singers and pickers, including Rusty.
In 1965 the first real custom records were released on the 900 series. Records in this series were issued on Jewel, Teen, Log Cabin, and a couple one-off names. The last known record in this series is #930.
The Jewel 700 series was started in 1966 with a release by Rusty, a remake of his famous remake “Sugaree”. The 700 series skips ahead to 731, which seems to continue from 930 (30 -> 31). This series runs until mid 1969. A couple numbers are reused – one of which has the notation of ‘Gospel series’. The other duplicate numbers seem to be along those lines, although many of the main series were also gospel records. This series ends at 799 in February, 1969.
Sometime around the spring of 1969 the Jewel operation was reorganized with outside investors buying a share of the business and the facilities getting an upgrade, mainly for stereo recordings. A second 700 numbering sequence was either started, or carried over from the ‘gospel’ 700 series mentioned above. The first known record in this sequence is 781 from March of 1969. This carries up to 800. The next known record is numbered 881. Both these records were pressed in Jan ’70 so there is no gap of 80 releases, it looks like they just took 800 and made it into 880 then added 1 for the next record. Around April, 1970, some records were issued as stereo and noted with a letter ‘S’ prefix to the number series which continued. After one or a couple “S-“ releases the S became a ‘5’, probably just an error in reading the documents by the label printer. A few months later all the Jewel records were stereo releases so the S/5 prefix was dropped. This series rolled into the 900s, and 1000s. The last known number for this series is 1077, which is either the last one or very close to last as it has a December 1974 date. During this series a few releases used the RYE label (Rusty York Enterprises), probably as a distinction as a record that had some promotion behind it. Another label name, Gem was used as well. I figure you get how that label name came about.
At the start of 1975, as mentioned above, the numbering system changed to having the first two digits as the year (starting with 75) and the last two digits incrementing for each release during the year, starting at 01. Some custom label names were used, but all the custom records have Jewel references, the Rite pressing account or the publishing.
Jewel remained active into the 1990s, in terms of releasing records. The operation was finally sold off in 2009.

The 58xx,59xx were supposed to be S-8xx, S-9xx, for stereo records. The first stereo record was corrected listed as S-892 but the S was changed to a 5, probably a misreading of the pressing order. At some point all the records were stereo so the 59xx was dropped.
#304 is a re-release of Ark 304, the stampers are the same as the Ark 45
