Joan Bias

Cleveland, early 1960s

Joan Bias was a Cleveland R&B singer. Her name shows up in local club ads from the early 1960s.

Seems like her recording career was a lone 45 on Way Out. It's probably the rarest, and possibly the worst selling, 45 on the label. The songs, both credited to Joan, have a throwback sound that's reminiscent of the Chantels or other  proto-soul groups.
