Larry and the Larks

Youngstown, 1966

Larry Greene, formerly of the Edsels, is the singer and namesake for this group, which doesn't appear to have been a working band, only existing as a one off recording session. The backing seems to be provided by Tony March and members of his band. It's a driving soul/greaser rock hybrid on "Tell Me" and another version of the local fave "The Girl I Love", also recorded by Kenny and the Kasuals, and later revived by Larry for a 45 on Tammy

It's likely this was recorded at Cleveland, and issued on Veep through the same connection that brought Barry Lee, Dale Davis, Andrea Carroll, and the Promises to the United Artists label family.
