the Lucky Charms

Akron, 1967-8

The Lucky Charms were a girl vocal soul group. That's based on the sound of their lone 45 on the Rubbertown label. Based on the scant info we have, they (and the Cashmeres and the Elevations) all recorded their 45s at the same session in 1967 or early 1968, using the same backing band. They were probably discovered at an Akron talent show, as the Rubbertown operation seemed to be connected with the talent show sponsors.
