Marty Cash

Toledo, early-mid 1960s

Marty Cash was the stage name for Marty Kempke. He was from Toledo and went to Rogers High School.

He recorded a 45 , doing two of his own songs. They are both solid rockers with some of the early 1960s Toledo band sound, and some strong lead guitar.

At some point he moved to the Memphis area and became a bluegrass musician, he appears to have been a significant member of a local scene there.

Unfortunately we don't know much else about him other than what's mentioned in his obituary. He passed away in 2007.
