Odin

Sidney, mid 1960s

Odin was the recording name for Edward Michael Willman, of Sidney. His father Ed Willman was a prominent member of the town - businessman, pilot - and put up some money for him to record. He used Mike Willman, but credited his songs as Ed.

There were two Odin 45s and both sound like home recordings. They sound different enough to be done at different times. The sound is folk rock, in a style that would be labelled 'lo-fi indie folk' 30 years later.

He passed away in 2007. Based on his age he graduated from Sidney High School in 1965 so the records were probably recorded then. He joined the Marines, and after discharge, attended Wright State University.
