Purple Persians

Cincinnati?, 1970

Don't really know much about this group, who recorded a primitive 45 for the Galactic label. The songs are credited to Fred Sewell. There is an obituary posted online for Fred Sewell from the northern Kentucky area, he would have been about the right age and he was a musician.

The group sounds like they were hippies that lived on a farm, including a woman backing singer who is not exactly of operatic level talent. "I Heard the Word" retains a mid 60s teen garage sound, with some tough lead vocals.
