Raspberries

Cleveland, 1970-5

One of the most famous bands to break out of Cleveland, the Raspberries played a form of back to basics song oriented rock-n-roll which started from a deliberate attempt to defy the long jams and stoned attitudes of their time. Though posthumously classified as "power-pop", they were really a sum of classic 60s rock (Beatles, Beach Boys) played through a 70s club/dance band attitude.

A complete history of the 'Berries, as well as an Eric Carmen bio, were published in book form, and their four LPs as well as a best-of are available on CD, and strongly recommended for any Buckeye Beat-ster.
