In the mid 1980s Toledo blues history, centering around Hines Farm (where Reynolds was a regular) and the Griswold brothers, experienced a revival and Reynolds was very active up to his death in 1993.

During the 1960s, Reynolds recorded several 45s on Detroit labels. He also wrote some songs for Detroit label owver/producer Mike Hanks. The Griswold brothers often backed Big Jack on the records and live peformances.
