the Centrees

Tipp City, 1963-72

Starting as freshmen at Bethel HS near Tipp City, they were first known as instrumental rockers the Rhythm Riders. This quartet played the few teen dances in their small communities north of Dayton, as well as a a couple battles of the bands in Dayton. They recorded their lone 45 at Wildwood studios but a mixup resulted where different takes were used of the two songs. The 45 was repressed with the more common versions. The band continued into the early 70s, with several personnel changes including the addition of a keyboard player, evolving into a female fronted club band.
