Dogs 'N Kids

Akron, 1972-79

Dogs 'N Kids were one of the bands that ruled the Akron/Kent club scene in the 1970s. The band featured Connie Sharp on lead vocal, with Tom Work on guitar, Bill Brauning on bass, Jim Tulip on keyboards, and Greg George on drums. Greg George had been in the Turnkeys and Bill Brauning in the Trolls and other bands. Bill Wooley and John Oros made up the support team/'roadies'.

The band played a variety of music, as they were built to get people dancing and having a good time. They incorporated a few original songs into their sets. Connie's vocals were used to great effect by her interpretations of some pre-rock classics such as 'Over The Rainbow'

They made a 45 in 1978, a tribute to local landmarks "Back in the Lakes Again", with a special picture cover.

After the group broke up in 1979, Connie and Tom started the band Sharp and Work.
