Earnest Bolden

Cleveland, early 1970s

Little is known about Earnest Bolden, who recorded a single 45 for the Alcon operation. Most of the Alcon records seemed have been done as vanity/promotional 45s and this one seems to fit in.

Although the record wasn't well distributed or played on the radio, it's a classy soul production and deserves recognition. The record also credits R. Lee in addition to Bolden..

It's possible that Bolden has some connection to Mississippi. Hopefully someone will come forward and tell the story.
