Newark, 1965-6
Fred Gartner and the Ferraris were from Newark. Fred had been one of the guitarists in the Triumphs. We don't know much else about the band but they recorded one of the first rock-n-roll records cut at Musicol in 1965. The sound is definitely in the greaser bag. Mt. Vernon's biggest name in rock music, Harvey Connell, was involved in the recording, the label reads "A Harvey Production".
In 1968 Fred's name is seen again as working with younger teen bands.
