Fred Mick and the Kingsmen

Savannah, 1960-2?

Fred Mick was a rock-n-roll star in his home base of Savannah, a small community north of Ashland. While still in high school he recorded a 45 at Hilltop, doing the blues standard "Baby What You Want Me to Do" b/w "Daddy-O Goose and the Three Piggies", another beatnick take on the Three Little Pigs story. The band, which were all locals, had the Kingsmen name before the "Louie Louie" crew.

I remember Andy Apperson told me he wanted to make a video for "Daddy-o Goose", which he was still fond of. Dunno if that ever happened, but "Baby..." is a good tough blues rocker worth checking out.
