Magic

Cleveland, 1971-2

There were two bands named Magic in the early 1970s. This band was the first and lasted for a year or so.

The band included Don Farmer (bass), Ken Kazda (drums), Jim McCarthy (lead guitar), and Chuck Hackett (keyboards).  Kazda, Farmer, and McCarthy had been in the Hobbit from 1970. Chuck Hackett had been in the Scepters.

The group was featured in this Plain Dealer story about the Basement club. They also played the Hullabaloos and a few other places.

There is no connection between the two Magic bands, the later Magic was competing against this Magic under their original name Marvin Gardens.

Farmer and McCarthy joined Labrynth.
