the Mysteries

Buford/Lynchburg, 1965-7

pic

The Mysteries included members from two small towns outside of Hillsboro, Buford and Lynchburg. The band seems to have started in 1965 with a lineup that included Gerald Davidson (lead guitar), Leon Bradley (bass), Gary Roush (organ), and Larry Unger (rhythm guitar). The band added Bob Ayers on drums, and Steve Rulon on vocals, with Unger departing.

The group was active for a couple years, and recorded a 45 at King in 1966. The two songs are folky, introspective late teenager numbers written by Ayers and Rulon (A side) and Roush (B side).

The band managed to keep playing while most of the band were off to local colleges. We don't know what became of the members.
