The Symbols of Sound were fronted by Bernard Taylor. The group peformed locally and competed in a few battle of the bands, including the televised Aug 27, 1971 event won by Circus. Based on limited into we have they were playing Cleveland style soul/funk. The group did some recordings at Cleveland Recording that were never released.

Bernard Taylor joined S.O.U.L.in 1972 and later recorded on his own as Beloyd Taylor. He passed away in 2014
