Tony Churchiglia / Tony Chick / Tony Church

Youngstown, 1960-94

Anthony "Tony" Churchiglia spent his life singing in bands from his first recording in 1960 to his death in 1994. As Tony Chick he recorded a 45 on the local Hy Joy label called "A Car", a rocker that could be described as "Gene Vincent with meatball". In the 1960s he played the Youngstown bars constantly with his band the Imperials. In 1968 he recorded a couple songs that had a contemporary teen garage sound (similar to the Animals) and got the 45 out on Tammy records, credit to "Tony Church and the Crusade" which were likely the Imperials with a "freaky" name.

More info is most welcome.
