Wes Williams

Heath, 1967-

Wes Williams was a student at Heath High School when he first recorded as part of the Heath High "On Mike" LP, from April 1968. His contribution was an original song, "Patheways". The LP was organized by James Fullen (aka country artist Jimmy John), who mentored the school folk club.

Wes made another recording in the spring of 1970, when he was preparing to graduate. He went to King reccrds, with fellow students Steve Risbon (guitar) and Alan Reid (drums), and accoridng to a Youtube post by Reid, Steve Price and Bob Buehlar. They recorded two of Wes' songs. "Closer", the A-side, is nice folk-rocker that sounds a bit like Donovan. The other side "Sight" is a moody song with prominent harpsichord. Risbon and Reid were also on the 1968 Heath High LP as part of the Sights Of Sound that recorded "Through The Suns Of My Mind".

Wes doesn't seem to have made any more records but he was an active performer in the Heath/Newark area for many years.
